AC/DC Introduce Platinum Wine
Two years ago, Australian winery Warburn Estate launched its first AC/DC-inspired libations -- complete with creative names like Back In Black Shiraz, Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc and You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato. They were such a success that Warburn and the band are now following up with another one: AC/DC Platinum.
The 2010 Shiraz, made of grapes from Australia’s Barossa Valley and then aged for two years in American oak, comes in a black bottle with a pewter neck collar and the famous AC/DC logo.
“To put together something like this – the rarity, the collectability and the never seen before packaging – has been a labour of love for everyone involved," Francis Fusca, executive director of sales and marketing at Warburn Estate, told The Shout.
"AC/DC Platinum is definitely at the forefront of wine packaging in this country," said Fusca. "The hardest part is for the fans who will miss out – this product could be considered one of the rarest memorabilia seen out of the AC/DC stable.”
Since the first AC/DC wines sold more than 6,000 cases the first week they were released, it's a safe bet the new Platinum will be just as popular. It will be released in September, but your best bet is to pre-order through Warburn Estate.
